Legging Season <3

Accent Scarf: Ebay $1

Biker Jacket: Ebay $15

I got it awhile ago so the link may not add up to the exact same jacket

Round Bottom Tank: Forever 21

Leggings

Knee-High Socks:  Target $4-$8

Boots: Payless $40 (or wait for a sale, I got them at $30)

Very affordable outfit 🙂

And this gorgeous burgundy lipstick is “ShowGirl” by Rain Cosmetics. I got it for $10 on Hautelook but it’s normally listed at $20.  I would definitely recommend it- this lipstick is well worth it.  It’s long lasting, moisturizing, and doesn’t get “flaky.”  I wish they all wore as well! Thumbs up on this product.

Fall 2013 Fashion Tips

24 Oct

It’s officially cold here in Jersey so time to re-amp my wardrobe (just in time for the weekend festivities!)

This year has been all about being eccentric (love it!)

-Think fur or leather outerwear in various colors, lengths and textures…. But pair around the one or two statement pieces and keep the rest of your outfit simple.  You don’t want overkill.

-Make sure these staples are weather appropriate.  No flouncy pieces.

-Classic prints always seem in.  I’m going to miss my floral but I do love plaid and houndstooth.  Menswear is your friend!

1Squeezing the last bit of floral in for the year 😛

-I seems hats are also in, but this girl tends to shy away from them.  Any type hat works at the moment.

-Jewel tones are going to be big, especially emerald green.  I’m pretty excited about this… time to pull out that Zoya Polish I got in this month’s Ipsy.. check out zoya.com, my polish is from the Fall 2013 CASHMERES & SATINS Collection, it’s called Giovanna. When you buy 2 polishes using the promo code IPSYZ3 the third is free! Also free with the code- Zoya remover 🙂

-White is also in- thank goodness because I own so much of it! Not sure when that happened; I’m not the cleanest person. Regardless, I’m glad it not only now an acceptable winter color, but an encouraged one!

-Camo is hott. Although personally, not a huge fan, Hautelook (referral link) may be changing my mind with this great shoe sale “Camo, Anyone?” Prices are EXTREMELY affordable (they have loafers for $10!!) but make your purchase quick because this sale ends Saturday.

-As always- Layer, layer, layer!

-The peplum hasn’t slowed, such a good thing! Ever notice how flattering it can be?

-Statement Jewelry is going strong! My absolute favorite trend.

Stay tuned…. I have a few great outfits in mind for this weekend using pieces you probably already own 🙂

23 Oct

I mentioned this nail polish earlier this month, but October is coming to a close and you may not want to miss out 🙂

Girls who are empowered to realize their full potential grow into strong women – women who are far less likely to become victims of relationship abuse. So during October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Sigma Delta Tau chapters nationwide are selling Girls Achieve Grapeness! – a custom shade of OPI nail polish created to support JWI (Jewish Women International) programs that help girls and young women become safe and independent.

No picture I could find- especially my own above- could really do this color justice.  I’m a supportive alume so I would of bought the polish regardless, but I was pleasantly surprised.  It’s a metallic purple.. similar to one Zoya would of made 🙂

Pumpkin Errything (and Tobi PROMO)

15 Oct

Up until last Fall, I ASSUMED I hated the taste of pumpkin.  I blame those ugly goopey looking pies!  But, after pumpkin picking and enough years of carving, I decided to puree one. I baked some doughnuts and you know?!?! Pumpkin really doesn’t have that strong of a flavor… so I’ve been LOVING it this year… thank you Dunkin Donuts!!

Tue

Here’s a quick and easy recipe I feel like sharing 🙂 It was a HUGE hit…even for my boyfriend who is still anti-pumpkin in his head.

Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Breakfast Rolls!!!!!!!!!!!

Image

2 packages/cans Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

4 0z cream cheese, softened

1/4 Cup brown sugar

1/4 Cup canned pumkin (Libby’s)

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg

1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Unroll crescent rolls to form 4 rectangles placed side by side.  Pinch seams together to form one long rectangle.  Place cream cheese, brown sugar, pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg into a mixer; beat until well combined.  Spread mixture over crescents leaving a 1/2 inch border around edges.  Starting at long end, roll up then cut into 1 inch pieces.  Place around 2 9 inch cake pans that have been sprayed with cooking spray.  I left the centers open so the rolls form a circle.

2.  Bake for 28-30 minutes or until rolls are golden brown.  Remove and let cool for 10 minutes.  Frost warm rolls with cream cheese frosting recipe below.

Frosting

4 oz softened cream cheese

1/2 Cup powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 Tablespoon canned pumpkin

1.  Mix all ingredients into a large bowl until smooth.  Spread over warm rolls.

I may add more pumpkin than the original recipe calls for… it’s all trial and error!  Keep posted, I have some ideas for the rest of the pumpkin that I’m hoping ends up good enough to share 🙂

I’s been awhile since I gave you a fashion update- check out Tobi.com‘s 2 day sale- everything is 50% from original price with promo code FLIRTYFALL50.  I’m quite torn myself- I found a gorgeous dress but need to stop spending money! Especially because today I was the victim of credit card fraud 😦 I’m hoping TD reimburses me, but the evidence is highly in my favor so I’m sure they will!
